Anthony Falsone is the personal strength & conditioning coach for Houston Rockets center Yao Ming and the owner of River Oaks Fitness, a Houston based personal training studio. Falsone, has been routinely credited for Yao Ming’s physical development and conditioning improvement since he entered the NBA in 2002.

Falsone began his career under the tutelage of renowned strength and conditioning guru Tim Hallmark (long-time personal strength & conditioning coach to Heavyweight Boxing Champion Evander Holyfield). As Hallmark’s understudy, Falsone learned from one of the true legends in the industry. He credits the development of his personal philosophy to the mentoring and support he received from Hallmark.

Falsone served two years as the personal strength coach for NBA legend Hakeem Olajuwon. Ten years as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Houston Rockets followed where he built a program that today is highly regarded throughout the basketball world. During his tenure with the Rockets, he spent three seasons (1998,99,2000) as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Houston Comets of the WNBA, earning three championship rings for his efforts.

In 2004, Falsone had the opportunity to work with the Chinese Men’s Olympic Basketball Team in preparation for the summer Olympiad in Athens, Greece. In 2006, Falsone again directed training for the Chinese Men’s National Team in preparation for the FIBA World Championships, held in Sapparo, Japan.

In addition to his professional activities, Falsone has written extensively on training, conditioning, nutrition and fitness and has been quoted and published in numerous national publications including Sports Illustrated, Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness and Muscle & Fitness. He is also a sought-after speaker who can energize a crowd with his enthusiasm and experience.

Falsone holds a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University and earned a Masters degree in Fitness & Human Performance from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, studying under Dr. Eugene Coleman, EdD, (Director of the Human Performance Institute and long-time strength and conditioning coach of the Houston Astros).

Falsone is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and is certified by USA Weightlifting as a Level-1 Strength Coach (USAW-1).
